Acrylic and polycarbonate are both used as plastic alternatives to glass. Polycarbonate is very impact and chemical resistant, and holds up well in extreme temperatures. It also has better light transmission than many types of glass. Acrylic is an economical alternative to polycarbonate, has high transparency and UV resistance, and is more scratch resistant. In automotive, both acrylic and polycarbonate are used for interior and exterior light lenses and decorative bezels.
